How to reset forgotten original admin password on mac?

Posted in Uncategorized on September 28th, 2010 by admin

I’ve forgotten my original admin password. Most help pages say something like this:

“Boot from the OS X install disc. There is an option under the Utilities menu that allows you to reset your password. ”

When I boot the install disc there IS NO UTILITIES MENU- just an Installer menu with nothing on it. What can be done? Please help.

The ability to do this varies depending on which OS X install CD you have. Typically, when you boot from the install CD, the OS installer launches. You first need to Quit the installer before other options are seen on the menu.

How can I change the password of an Admin account?

Posted in Uncategorized on September 23rd, 2010 by admin

My admin has limited my account and it won’t allow me to access control panel, run, properties, or anything of that sort.

I want to know how I can change the Admin’s password and reset my own restrictions. I don’t want to burn a CD or anything like that. I’ve tried to run the Administrator account under safe mode, and it’s also locked. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Even if you find a way (which you can, as long as the CMD isn’t blocked), there’s no way to set it back, so he’ll know instantly and you’ll be in big trouble.
