PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAMER MERLIN OLSEN DIES OF CANCER AT 69 (USA TODAY)
Merlin Olsen, who played for the Los Angeles Rams for fifteen seasons from 1962-76 and was inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1982, died early Thursday sunrise at the age of 69. Olsen, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2009, filed a legal case in Dec opposite countless companies, together with NBC, who he purported unprotected him negligently to asbestos.
